New 3 Wheeler Model

Materials

The woods I used for the model were Black Walnut for the wheels, chassis, and body, and Hop Hornbeam for the cowl and engine. I wanted a natural wood finish, the white Hop Hornbeam used for the 'chrome' bits would contrast nicely with the dark Black Walnut. Any other white, closed grain hardwood would do, I just happen to have some Hop Hornbeam from a log I spotted in a load of firewood several years ago.

Measurements are actual size not nominal sizes.

Model:

1 piece Black Walnut	1" x 1 1/8" x 12 1/2"	(for spokes)
1 piece Black Walnut	9/16" x 4" x 12"??	(for wheel disks ?? - length depends on outside diameter of the tool you use to cut the wheel disks, 12" should be plenty for 3 wheels)
1 piece Black Walnut	3/4" x 3/4" x 6"	(for axle pins)
1 piece Black Walnut	1 1/8" x 1 1/4" x x 10 1/2"	(central chassis)
1 piece Black Walnut	5/8" x 1 3/8" x 4 3/8"	(for cross frame)
1 piece Black Walnut	1 1/4" x 4" x 10"	(for lower body)
1 piece Black Walnut	1 5/8" x 4" x 10"	(for upper body)
1 piece Hop Hornbeam	1 1/2" x 2" x 1"	(for cowl)
1 piece Hop Hornbeam	1 3/8" x 7/8" x 1 1/8"	(for engine crank case)
2 pieces Hop Hornbeam	1 1/8" x 1 1/4" x 1 1/8"	(for engine cylinders)

Zero Clearance Table Saw Insert:

These are commercially available for most professional grade table saws but not for my old home handyman model. If you cannot locate one, mine used:

1 piece 3/8" veneer core plywood

12" x 4"

Spoke Making Jig:

1 piece hardwood	1" x 1" x 10"
2 round head wood screws	(to attach it to the router's base plate)

Spoke Drilling Jig:

1 piece hardwood	3 1/4" x 3 1/2" x 5"
1 piece 3/4" veneer core ply	8" x 8"
1 piece brass bar	1/8" x 1" x 4"
1 lag bolt	3/8" dia. shaft, 2" long
2 round head screws
2 washers

Wheel Clamp:

1 piece softwood	3/4" x 5" x 12"
1 piece 3/4" veneer core ply	2" x 5"
2 pieces 3/4" veneer core ply	3/4" x 2"
4 flat head wood screws	1 1/4" long
