Louvers
Cut pieces of veneer to the shape of the bonnet louver areas. Mark the louver lines. I counted 24 on the top sets and 12 on the side ones. Calculate your measurements to fit the pieces you cut.
File louvers with a half round miniature file. Clamp a guide block to keep the file on the lines. The flat side of the file cuts the rear, open side of the louvers so the front of the louver goes under the block. Press the flat side of the file against the guide block to keep it square to the work piece. After all the louvers are cut, freehand file rounded front corners onto each louver.
Glue the louver veneer strips into place on the bonnet.
